Free To Live My Life Over

I started with knowing I had Hep c in the year 2009, I didn't believe it so I did nothing, the following year my sister was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. I focused all my attention on caring for her until her demise the same year, her death impacted me tremendously, I really didn't know how I was going to make it without her.

Endocrinologist

I was separated from my then-husband at that time, we were having serious marriage issues, I waited until 2011 to finally get my divorce, I went on with my life the best I was able to at that time, I started to pick myself up and move on in life, my endocrinologist did some labs on me, and confirmed what I was told in 2009, regarding the hep c. She called me told me I needed to see a hep c Dr. To be honest, I told her I was not going to do anything about it, to let the disease take its course, she didn't say much but her expression spoke.

Considering treatment

My primary Dr was also notified and she too encouraged me to start treatment, I told her the same thing I told my endocrinologist, I didn't want to do anything about it, She encouraged me to at least try, I let her know I would think about,

Long story short, I decided to start Treatment, did all the blood work, X-rays, my insurance company okayed to pay for the medication. I received a grant for my co-pay and started taking the medication in July of 2021. I am finished with the three months of taking the meds. My SVR came back less than 10 after two months of the medication. I am waiting for the final labs to say I am officially cleared of the virus.

Feeling healthy again

I just wanted to let someone know, you can begin again. I am doing well, my health is going well. I am living my best life now after so many disappointments. Most of all, I decided to live again.
