Doctor in military said I had Hep A in 1972 but had Hep C almost died

How do I go about getting that reversed for my military pension seeings how Hep C was not put on the books till 1989 and I test positive for have having C all this time. The doctor had not choice but to say I had A because B C did not exist then. He made no mistake but I can't get a doctor to write a letter for it and I have read everything there is to read on Hep 1000"s of hours????????? Jay Wagner

  1. Hi Jay! Thank you for sharing your situation with us–it is extremely unfortunate you're having such a hard time getting that changed on your pension. I want to pass along the contact information for Help4Hep, a free peer counseling service for people living with hepatitis C. Their counselors are knowledgable and may be able to help. They can be reached at 877‑435‑7443 from 9am-9pm EST. Have you been able to get in touch with a veteran's advocacy organization? We're here for you with support–let us know how things progress? Best, Matt (Team Member, HepatitisC.net)
