When does hep c not have a genotype?

    Hi suesan2!

    Chronic (active) HepatitisC always has a genotype. In fact, though rare, some people are housing 2 genotypes. If you are only antibody positive (spontaneously cleared during acute stage-first six months after exposure or cured) you will not have a genotype as they can only be identified in countable virii.
