Do others with hep C have joint pain?

I have super bad joint pain all over, do most have the same?

  1. Yes neck, back, hips, hands, feet. My pain was not as bad after I finished hep C treatment. I hear this a lot from people who have hep C. You can do research on it too. It is very interesting.

    1. Hi bradtexas, thanks for your question! Yes, many of our community members report struggling with this. In fact, hepatitis C is often associated with musculoskeletal issues including joint pain. I'm so sorry to hear that you're struggling with this. Please keep us posted! We're thinking of you, and wishing you some relief soon! -Casey, HepatitisC.net Team

      1. Hi Gypsy, I have dealt with a lot of muscle and joint pain. If you really feel incapacitated by it, you might want to see a specialist in arthritis. My arthritis doc told me that she sees many hep C patients who complain about aching joints. Sometimes it comes from a long standing hep C infection. The hep C antibodies settle in the joints causing pain. There are medications that can be tried. I am also sure that there are other reasons for joint pain in hep C patients. I hope you feel better as time goes on and you are further away from having the virus. Congrats on your SVR. (Sue, Community Moderator)

        1. I wake up hurting , I'm hurting right now ! I have degeneration of my joints and 6 lower vertebrae out. The doctors mostly say either you have to live with it or one the other day asked me what was my mental problem? I hope he falls down some stairs or gets kicked by a horse . But yes the pain is real and I wish I could go to a doctor who understood that 2 tramadol per day is a baby dosage and TYLENOL is a poison! It's time for reform in the area of pain.
There is not an epidemic of opiate abuse amongst people who legitimately use their meds.
Why should we have to suffer because of the Junkies who rob and steal to get any kind of dope they can get their hands on?
