Liver cancer after treatment of hep c.

My mother , my father and my stepmother all had the hep c treatment and were cured . Less than a year ago my stepmother died of liver cancer. Now both my mother and father are both dying of liver cancer. I would like to know if anyone else has similar experience.

  1. My heart goes out to you, . I am so very sorry for the loss of your stepmother and for the illness of your parents. How devasting. Treatment for Hep C does decrease the chances of developing liver cancer, but the risk of cancer is still higher for people who have been infected with Hep C, especially if they have developed cirrhosis of the liver. Here is an article about the relationship between Hep C and liver cancer that explains it better than I can: https://hepatitisc.net/what-is/liver-cancer. You must be under a ton of stress right now. Please take time out to care for yourself while you care for your parents. Enlist all the help you can. Know that we are here for you whenever you need support or a place to vent. Sending gentle hugs and the best of all wishes your way. - Lori (Team Member)

        1. Hi . I responded to you forum post, but I wanted to reach out to you here as well. Please talk to your doctor about the side effects you are experiencing. Maybe your doctor can help. I hope you are nearing the end of treatment. Gentle hugs. - Lori (Team Member)
