How fast can you have syptoms after exposure to hep c

Hello,

How quickly can you experience first symptoms after exposure of hep c? I had a cut and possible cross infection and started symptoms of diarrhoea and abdominal pain few hours later. Is it possible?

  1. The best way to find out is to ask a medical professional. Have you had hepatitis C and believe you may possibly have it again due to the cut and cross infection? Did you eat around the time of the cut because it could be something that didn’t agree with your stomach. Sometimes anxiety causes stress and one for of stress is diarrhea, which can lead to a possibility of irritable bowel syndrome. Hope you are doing well. Thank you for sharing. 1. When I was first infected with hepatitis c. It was an abscess on a stich it would come and go for years until they removed it. The first symptoms which started fairly soon probably within the first year after the initial surgery was I could not sleep and I just wasnt thinking right.

I have always wondered if other people have had infections after their initial exposure.

      1. Hi . We are not medical experts, but, generally, researchers say it takes at least two weeks for any symptoms to appear after infection. If you don't mind me asking, what makes you suspect you had a cross infection? I would strongly suggest you get tested, regardless. If you don't, you will always wonder. Testing will either bring you peace of mind or lead to immediate treatment, which can cure you before any damage occurs. Keep us posted if you are comfortable. Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
