30th day of HCV tx Geno 3- Am I wasting my time?

Pretreatment I had high viral load 20 mill, now that I have been on it for 4 weeks shouldn't I be doing V L test to see if treatment is working and I'm not just wasting my time?
Been getting few side effects tingle-ness etc.
