2.5 yrs hep c free

Treated a while back. Have nightmares I re-infect. I still have fatigue. I don't get sick as often. Is my fatigue a long term side effect? Fatigue is what caused me to get treated in the first place. I can sleep 12hrs straight. I have gotten blood work several times post treatment and even at 1yr. So im clear. Anyone have any ideas? Or do i need to go back to dr.. Anyone else sick of having a different dr for every issue?

  1. Hi, ! Congratulations on seeking and completing treatment! That's awesome. I am so glad you are considered cured. That's awesome.

That said, fatigue is a pernicious symptom that sometimes doesn't like to let go. I know some of our community members experience fatigue long after being cured of HepC. I know that stinks to read, but that doesn't mean you are stuck with it permanently. It can take your body some time to fully recover and heal from the ravages of the virus. If you have any permanent liver damage, that can also affect your overall health and energy levels. Has your physician offered any insight? I hate to say it, but you may need to go back in and have a discussion with him/her. And yes, having a list of doctors can be very frustrating and difficult to manage!

I wanted to share this article with you about HepC and fatigue -- https://hepatitisc.net/living/treatment-fatigue. It may give you some hope and some helpful tips to try.

You're not alone in this! And I do hope that fatigue starts improving very soon!

    2. , I'm sorry! I have only been moderating for HepC for about two months now. I'm still pretty new to this community, but apologies if I have somehow forgotten you! That is never my intention.

  2. I feel awful after treatment and am disabled now. I am ambulatory so walk amd all that. Those meds were like chemo and very tough on me too. Many don't feel after it actually caused me sarcoidosis which is a lupus like illness. The liver controls thyriod so now hypothyroid too. Anemia all over several but have been working on them. Thank God for online forums and social media though. I am educating myself thoroughly.

  3. I can definitely empathize with you as far as being tired of seeing so many doctors. It does become frustrating. At one point, I was seeing at least six different specialists for different issues. You’re definitely not alone. Leslie (Community Moderator)
