Harvoni Treatment

I was diagnosed of having hep C after going to treatment for opiate addiction. I was an IV drug user for a decade. The diagnosis of having hep C stunned me. This was in 2010. I educated myself about this disease and treatments for it. I was not having any symptoms except for some extreme weight loss and loss of appetite. In general though I felt OK. My Dr. decided not to treat me for it as my viral load was low and liver functions were good. Fast forward to 2015 and my doctor at the Veterans Hospital told me that they were treating all veterans with hep C and I would be a good candidate for Harvoni. I agreed to treatment and was prescribed Harvoni for 8 weeks. I took one pill a day. I had no bad reactions. They checked my blood weekly and now after 6 months of taking the Harvoni I am hep C free. I am cured. I am so grateful that the VA took care of me. I didn't have to pay for my treatment either. Harvoni is very expensive. I just want to post this message to let all military veterans that have hep C to please go to your nearest VA and get treatment. God bless you all and thanks for hearing me out.
