Does this settlement exist?
Is there any kind of settlement that you can receive for getting Hep C through a blood transfusion during an emergency surgery if it was over 30 years ago?
As far as I am aware of there have been no successful class action lawsuits in the US, nor settlements besides cases after 1992. Canada had one for the four year period between 1986-1990: http://www.hepcclassaction.ca/
To the best of my knowledge, there have been no successful large scale class action suits in the US, nor will there likely be any as the hospitals did not willfully transmit the virus. The only such issuance would likely need to come from the US government, as pinning down which hospitals are responsible for infecting which patients twenty to thirty years ago would be logistically challenging.
