  1. "Hope everyone's doing well =] Just wanted to pop in & say hi & see what the community is up to. My son & I recently went & checked out some waterfalls, it was alot of fun, could've done without the million bugs constantly swarming us, but it was worth it ♡"me & my son checking out some waterfalls

    1. Hi ! It's good to hear from you again! What a gorgeous spot. Was it a long hike? It reminds me of the Adirondacks, where I grew up. Those are some great memories you are making with your boy. Thanks for brightening my day! - Lori (Team Member)

    2. It was alot of fun! it wasn't too much of a hike but the trail does go on for miles but to see the main part of the waterfall was a short walk. I'm not sure if you ever heard about the waterfalls in Marinette County, WI but the county is famous in WI for being the "waterfall county" there's dozens if not more of them. My son & I want to eventually see all of them, we both love anything outdoors to do with nature but we really have a soft spot for waterfalls lol the one in the picture is called Dave's Falls. What state are the Adirondacks in? I've never heard of them but they sound cool already =]

    3. . The Adirondacks are in northern New York State. It's the largest state park in the country and the oldest mountain range in the world, but it includes some private land, including several villages. You might have heard of Lake Placid, where the Olympics were held in 1932 and 1980. That's nine miles from my hometown. Lots of lakes and waterfalls, but nowhere near as many falls as Marinette County. What a gorgeous area for raising your son and how wonderful that he shares your love of nature. I hope you reall y are able to see them all over time. What a great goal. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. "Happy Spring!! Too bad all I see is snow outside my window right now but I guess that's just part of being from the upper Midwest lol 2025 also marks a decade of being cured. It's amazing to see how far hep communities, organizations, advocates, etc have come over the last 10 years & just wanted to write a shout out to all of you that have made that possible & given people safe places to come to for help or information, things I only wish I would've had back in 2014-15, I'm just happy to see that people don't have to feel as alone & we can talk more openly & freely about our experiences with hepatitis (among other things) with others who know on a personal level what it's like to go through these experiences & tough times in our lives. To everyone especially keeping this site up & alive, thank you for creating an amazing safe place for people to come to, including me even though I've been cured for a decade now, it's still nice being able to share things I've been through & also find out more info on people who have been cured longterm like me but still might experience some symptoms leftover from the virus that a cure can't.. well cure. You all deserve alot of credit so again, thank you for all your hard work, it's deeply appreciated! 🫶🏼❤️💛"

    1. Happy 10-year anniversary! Things really have changed, haven't they? Back then, you fought to receive a cure that wasn't even 100 percent effective for everyone and came with the potential for long-term side effects. (In fighting that battle, you helped pave the way for others to be cured. Don't ever forget that.) Now, we have a reliable cure with (so far) no known, long-term, negative effects. It's pretty amazing.
Thank you for your kind words. They are much appreciated. But it's people like you who make this the warm, welcoming and supportive place that it is. So, thank you for being part of the community and for coming back with an update.
I hope your weather improves soon and that spring shows itself in proper form. It's been a strange winter. We usually have snow at this time in North Central PA, where I live, but the ground is bare now and, though it was a bit warm earlier this month, the temperatures are now perfect for making maple syrup (I am tending to boiling pots of sap as I write this.). Maybe some of that weather will drift your way.
I hope you do something special to celebrate your cure anniversary. You deserve it!
Warmest of wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

  3. "Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope everyone had a good World Hepatitis Day ❤️💛 & has a good rest of the summer =] I'm still tryna wrap my head around how my baby will be in 6th grade already, he may not be a baby anymore but he knows he'll always be my baby lol Crazy to think exactly a decade ago I just found out I was infected with hep c & the crazy journey that would take me on leading to being almost 9yrs cured now. Some days I still feel the aftereffects of when I had hep c (mainly fatigue that never fully recovered along with some inflammation once ina while) but I couldn't be more proud of the hep community for getting us to where we are today, I only wish I would've had a site like this to go to when I was first infected & felt alone & scared but I'm glad the hep community has only gotten stronger & have each other's backs.. during a time of division & choas, the hep community has always remained strongly together regardless of your beliefs or culture or whatever it is, at the end of the day the hep community has shown me that unity & kindness towards each other always prevails in the end & reminds me there's still hope for the future. Thank you to all of you who have been apart of that inspiration & determination to keep fighting for what's right including access to hep cures without all the roadblocks & mind games I had to go through (&I'm sure many others during that time period) in 2014-15 just to fight to save my life with a cure that a pharmaceutical company was willing to help me get but my state decided to play political games to try stopping the company from helping me.. in the end we won, but it makes me happy to see people in my community not having to worry about that nonsense anymore & having easier access to the cures. It just shows how far the progress everyone in the hep community has accomplished & I just wanted to take time to recognize that & thank the hep community for all the work they've been putting into this fight to make sure everyone has access to the cures, you all deserve so much more credit than you get so shout out to all the hep community! ❤️💛🫶🏼"

    1. Happy Tuesday and happy belated World Hepatitis Day to you as well, ! How awesome to see that you are doing well now and that your little one is now in sixth grade. Wow. The time goes by so quickly. Thank goodness your treatment was eventually approved and that you are now able to live your life with him fully. Is he entering junior high or is sixth grade part of the elementary school in your district? I hope the residual effects of hep C fade over time and that no one ever has to jump through the hoops you navigated to get treatment again. Thanks for advocating for yourself and paving the way for others. Thinking of you and sending the very best of wishes your way. - Lori (Team Member)

  4. "Happy Hepatitis Awareness Month!! ❤️💛 I was declared officially cured the end of 2015 so going on 7-8yrs of being Hep C free 🤗 💛❤️
& also the month my baby (who def isn't a baby anymore) turns 10 years old.. I feel old lol 💕 "

    1. , WOO HOO! CONGRATULATIONS ON 7-8 years of being Hep C free! And, yes, Happy Hepatitis Awareness Month to you, too! Hopefully, awareness will help others to seek treatment for their HepC (or to even get tested to see if they have it in the first place).

My youngest is 12, so I hear you about birthdays. Those kids grow up so fast. those early years of parenting seem to last FOREVER, but then it seems like you blink and they're learning to drive!

I hope you have a fun day celebrating your baby!
