We are incredibly heartbroken to share that longtime HepatitisC.net Health Leader, Randy Madara, passed away on July 11, 2024. Randy was a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and true friend. We are all thinking of her loved ones during this difficult time.

Randy’s dedication to helping others

Randy devoted her life to raising awareness and helping others impacted by hepatitis C in any way she could. Since its launch in 2015, she has been a dedicated moderator and Health Leader on HepatitisC.net.

Beyond her work on HepatitisC.net, you could regularly find Randy on the Help-4-Hep helpline as a peer counselor offering support to others. On Facebook, Randy created so many online relationships that turned into friendships just by lending a compassionate, supportive ear.

All of us who had the opportunity to work with Randy will miss her huge heart. She consistently checked in on us. She loved to help celebrate our personal milestones and ended nearly every phone call with “hugs and love you.”
